What Is an IP Rating?

The first digit 6 means the enclosure is completely dust-tight. No dust or solid particles can enter under any conditions. This is the maximum level of solid particle protection available under the IP standard.

The second digit 5 means the enclosure can withstand water projected from a nozzle in any direction. This covers rain, splashing, and jet washing — but not submersion.

The first digit  6  is identical to IP65. Completely dust-tight.

The second digital in the rating, that is 7, here means that the enclosure is prepared to withstand water immersion (temporarily) up to one meter depth for half an hour (30 minutes). This is where IP67 rating covers the scenarios where the charger or the EV is exposed to conditions like pooling, flooding or standing water. 

This means that a charger with IP67 rating is designed for environments that are exposed to outdoors like flood-prone areas. It is also relevant to applications where the charger somehow is in some direct and sustained contact with water.  

IP65 vs IP67 EV Charger — The Key Difference
